Purpose

How does this happen?
I never use to be like this
What were my plans?
Before I changed them around

I was never motivated enough in the past
Doing the work required, but for what?
I never really gave it much thought
I wasn't sure of my future goals

But now I'm determined
I've done what took me two years longer than others my age to complete
I'm making it my duty to see medical research does NOT stop
Change is coming and it's got my name on it

The way things are done now
Making pills, not to help others
But for a "band-aid" fix
A giant corporation made to make money

We need cures, proper vaccines, effective medications
We need people who care about the people
We need to take over the positions of people who decide these things
We need change

Now I know why I worked the way I did
I need to find that again
The initiative to get things done
The purpose being, a better world
